Aoife LAYTON
Aoife LAYTON
Born 1979, Cork, Ireland
Lives and works in Cork, Ireland
“Layton is an Irish artist known for her continuing engagement with the process of mezzotint engraving. Human-animal interaction lies at the centre of her artistic practice: her prints consider the mutability of human-animal relationships and the inconsistencies in our perceptions of – and engagements with – the non-human animal. Small-scale works of great tonal depth represent observations, both playful and enquiring, on the intersection of culture and nature.”
