Nan MULDER

Nan MULDER

Born 1948, Leiden, the Netherlands

Lives and works in Edam, the Netherlands

“In her works Nan Mulder seeks to reveal a hidden history, an inner journey towards the unknown. The result is often figurative, though it is more a reference to, then an explanation of that story. In her many travels she often found, in elusive foreign imagery, a visual language that hints at that inner mystery. Her recent mezzotints of the thick foliage and subtropical plants in New Zealand are for her a route towards that metaphorical interior. Birds join her on the way.”
